2020 Projects – Nikki Moyes

I hope everyone’s had a great start to the year. I managed to avoid the Australian bushfires and floods, and have been trying to get back into my writing after a lengthy break following the publication of THE KEEPER (Book 1 of the Suri Series).

So what projects am I working on this year?

THE CHALLENGER is book 2 of the Suri Series. It’s currently half-drafted. For those waiting to read it, I hope to have it finished by the end of the year…

The cover will probably change slightly, but this is the current concept for Book 2.

I spent a couple of weeks in January with my brother and we managed to find a brief moment to discuss our latest Gimmicky Pseudonym project – a satire diet/lifestyle book called HOW TO PALEO THE PROPER WAY. We even found time to do a photo shoot for the book.

Paleo fishing techniques. There may or may not have been any fish in this river. Also the water was really cold!

Luckily, my niece Miss Four didn’t find out the real reason her toys had gone on ‘an adventure’ while she was at day-care. Shhh, don’t tell. #murderrock

Some photos may include non-Paleo alternatives due to time constraints. On the plus side, the red-back spiders were blackcurrant flavour. Yum, yum.

Hopefully this book will be finished by the end of the year. It would made for a great gift for that hard to buy for person.

Other projects for the year:

I’ve written a children’s picture book and am currently pitching it to agents/publishers. Fingers crossed for that one.

I’m also looking at doing some short stories with the aim of publishing alongside with the girls from my critique group. I love Melanie and Kellie’s stories and I feel like we have similar writing styles, so it will be one for readers to look out for – again, later in the year.
